Dinner, Lire?

"Another year older, another year wiser" or so the proverb says.

Regardless, I've been made Head Boy. Lire was the first to know, naturally. Our parents deemed the occasion necessary to remove themselves from the depths of the manor and their cauldrons to offer congratulations. A rare feat for those who only appear at 6 on a weekday.

As for a new school year and as per tradition, I shall be including a Question of the Day. These are not limited to questions, but for quotations, riddles, or anything else I deem mildly interesting or entertaining.

As an end to the summer and the start of a new year, I offer a simple riddle:

For some I go fast
for others I'm slow.
To most people, I'm an obsession
relying on me is a well practiced lesson.
